Artisan Structures
- Photography
With the website build paused while designer Paul Margiotta worked his magic – I visited Artisan Structures first major project in Exning, near Newmarket, to do some photography. Initially the weather looked a bit drab but it brightened up and the high cloud cover gave a nice soft light — albeit with a boring sky. However shooting a series of bracketed exposures and later converting them into HDR images got great results. The characteristics of the wood, something at the core of what Artisan Structures do, really stood out.
Later I also shot the first small items they produced — some lovely pippy Yew shelves and mirror, a huge gnarley coffee table, and an Oak mantlepiece.
